Rubble is a growth poem, a reflection on creativity, life, resilience, and the absolute need to plant and grow even when all you’ve got is rubble and dust.
Rubble – Growth Poem
Go sowing
potatoes in the rubble and
orchids in the dust
where birds and bees
fall bare of petals and pollen.
You can,
if you must,
and you must
sow potatoes in the rubble
and orchids in the dust.
Be
a beekeeper,
feed a bird a worm,
a berry,
a seed.
Sprouts can
trace honey
in the dust and the rubble
mud-bound,
they bear orchids and potatoes.
