This is my greed poem Collateral Damage. If you could subtract greed from the world, would it emerge anew?
Collateral Damage
Fear is greed's mother
the child slaying body and bone
on its quest for sure safety and solid satisfaction
now breathlessly escaping the true monsters
need
reliance
dependence
trust
vulnerability
In its wake, the child leaves behind dead
fragile
needy
trusting
dependent bones and bodies
a boiling planet / losing breed after kind
holding hands, mother and child
co-depend and endure
only love can bring them down
