Life in Gaza – We Are Dead Already

Life in Gaza is unbearable. As one Palestinian told Channel 4: “We are dead already.”

May 2018 Gaza Massacre

Yesterday, 14 May 2018

At the fence, 58 Palestinians were murdered by the Israeli defence forces.
At the fence, 2800 Palestinians were injured by the IDF.
Justifiably, they say, Hamas sent them across the fence, they say.

Fadi-Abu, the man who lost his legs to Israeli gunfire in 2014, also a terrorist, was gunned down. Justifiably, they say. We need to defend our border against a legless man, they say.

The Chosen People Are Above the Law

Don’t dare to criticise the Israelis, they’ll call you anti-semitic, a terrorist. I guess being the chosen people, Israel boasts god-given rights far above the law. Israel may evict, injure, kill, torture, starve, and strive to wipe out a people of terrorists – including legless Fadi-Abu. And women and children supposedly sent by Hamas.

They’ve done well with the land-grabbing, killing, and cleansing efforts. In Gaza, two million Palestinians crammed into a dirty city without sufficient supplies since the start of the blockade eleven years ago, are gradually suffocating. From the outside in and from the inside out.

We are dead already, one man told a Channel 4 reporter. He doesn’t mind crossing the fence and getting murdered. Attempted and successful suicide rates are on the up, a UN doctor confirmed.

Still, at least the celebrations went well at the opening of the new US embassy in East Jerusalem. Netanyahu, Ivanka, and Jared joined by dignitaries from over 30 countries, smiled. In Washington, Trump spoke about peace in the Middle East. Not a word about Nakba, the Palestinian catastrophe.

Today

On the 70th Nakba Day, Palestinians reflect on their catastrophic history, while staff are settling into the new embassy, and Trump can rest assured of future donations from many Israeli supporters.

No use waiting for constraint words from international leaders and the UN to do damn all. Join a BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) movement near you.
